Human Library
The human library was started in Denmark in 2000. The project allows regular people to meet and learn about other kinds of people. Generally, the "books" in the library discuss taboo subjects like sex, drugs, and physical assaults. I thought it was a really good project and one with potential for English education. I collected YouTube videos of interesting people. You can find all of the people here. This is a partially guided listening activity and I give vocabulary, pre-listening, listening, and post-listening questions. However, to truly understand the person they will represent, trainees will need to do further research on their own.
